nxConstraints - Collisions
Overview Video
Section titled “Overview Video”This layer provides particle to particle collisions.
Weight
Section titled “Weight”The Weight setting alters the influence each constraint type provides to the overall, global solution.
If you are only using one layer, this can be left at the default, 100%.
If you are combining different constraints in several layers, you may need to increase this weight to values much higher than 100%.
Animation demonstrating raising the Weight value from 0 (zero) % to 100%, to blend the Collisions layer into the existing friction forces.
Stiffness
Section titled “Stiffness”This controls how stiff the collision is.
Essentially, a dynamic ‘spring’ is created to keep the particles apart (to keep them from intersecting).
Collision Stiffness animated from 100% to 7%. To prevent particles from constant bouncing, a Friction layer has been added, with a Connection Limit value of 1.
